The Biometrics and Identification Division (BID) utilizes cutting edge technologies to assist law enforcement agencies, primarily in the areas of criminal identification and polygraph. Biometric databases housed in BID include the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS), Statewide Network of Agency Photos (SNAP), and Combined Offender DNA Indexing System (CODIS). BID also oversees forensic art, audio-video analysis, and the photo lab and crime scene image repository. 

The Budget and Financial Services Division (BFSD) is responsible for developing and monitoring the department's budget, purchasing, and fleet management. 

The motor carrier officers of the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division (CVED) conduct road patrol activities focused on commercial vehicle enforcement. Additional responsibilities include conducting federal compliance reviews and investigations, school bus inspections, and conducting safety audits. CVED's Regulatory and Credentialing Section is responsible for insurance and safety regulations of intrastate for-hire motor carriers, as well as regulating rate and consumer protection of intrastate motor carriers of household goods. 

The Criminal Justice Information Center (CJIC) is responsible for the administration of legislatively mandated programs and central repositories for criminal histories, sex offenders, pistol registrations, concealed pistol licenses, local case management, traffic crashes, and crime data.

Marie Post is responsible for Chippewa and Luce counties. The St. Ignace Post is responsible for Mackinac and Schoolcraft counties. The Gladstone Post covers Delta and Menominee counties. The Iron Mountain Post covers Iron and Dickinson counties. The Wakefield Post covers Gogebic and Ontonagon counties. The Calumet Post is responsible for Houghton, Baraga and Keweenaw counties. 

Xổ số muôn nămThe Emergency Management & Homeland Security Division (EMHSD) is responsible for assisting local jurisdictions with response and recovery efforts for natural and man-made disasters, and serves as the state’s liaison with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The EMHSD also maintains Michigan’s Emergency Management Plan.  

Executive Operations is led by the Chief Deputy Director, who serves as assistant to the Director. The Human Resources Division, Professional Standards Section, Risk Management Section, Internal Control Coordinator, Public Affairs Section, Government Relations Section, and Records Resource Section report directly to the Chief Deputy Director.

Comprised of the First, Second, Third, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth Districts, as well as the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division, Special Operations Division, and Special Investigation Division.

Xổ số muôn nămThe Forensic Science Division comprises eight forensic laboratories located throughout the state, employing state-of-the-art technology to assist law enforcement agencies with evidence analysis.  In addition to crime scene response and processing, the laboratories provide analysis in the areas of biology/DNA, firearms and toolmarks, trace evidence/questioned documents, toxicology, bloodstain pattern analysis, latent prints, and controlled substances.  

The Grants and Community Services Division (GCSD) oversees the department’s community outreach efforts, including the MSP Angel Program for persons seeking treatment for drug dependency. The GCSD also provides guidance and oversight for federal, state, and private grants available to criminal justice agencies, and is responsible for facilities and warehouse management.   

The Human Resources Division oversees the department’s human resources activities and services, including employee equality and inclusion, labor relations, disability management, classification and selection, performance management, and recruitment and selection of enforcement members.

The Information Technology Support Division is responsible for developing and implementing the department's information technology strategic plan, monitoring and analyzing technology trends that could improve the department's performance, establishing technology standards, and providing recommendations on the department's technology landscape, developments, and projects.

Xổ số muôn nămThe Intelligence Operations Division (IOD) includes the Michigan Intelligence Operations Center for Homeland Security (MIOC), Michigan’s fusion center; the Operations Section, which coordinates and deploys MSP’s resources statewide 24 hours a day, seven days a week; the Cyber Section, consisting of  Michigan Cyber Command Center, Computer Crimes Unit, and Michigan Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force; and MSP’s four Regional Communications Centers (RCC), which are located in Lansing, Detroit, Gaylord, and Negaunee.  

The Internal Control Coordinator evaluates the department's internal controls as it relates to programs, systems, and financial operations. This position coordinates audits, negotiates the resolution of audit findings, and monitors corrective action plans.

The Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) is mandated by statute to set standards for the selection, employment, licensing, retention, and training of law enforcement officers in the state of Michigan and to promulgate rules to govern these functions. 

Xổ số muôn nămThe Office of Behavioral Science serves members of the department, as well as the law enforcement community at-large. The Office offers services to enhance the mental health of employees, and works in collaboration with the law enforcement community to assist in solving crimes. 

The Office of Highway Safety Planning (OHSP) administers state and federal highway safety-related grant programs with funding from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Michigan Truck Safety Fund, and the Secondary Road Patrol and Accident Prevention Program. 

Second District includes the Metro North and Metro South Posts. The Metro North Post covers Oakland and Macomb counties, and the Metro South Post is responsible for Wayne County and the City of Detroit. 

The Seventh District has four posts that cover 19 counties. The Cadillac Post covers Wexford, Manistee, Benzie, Leelanau, and Grand Traverse counties. The Houghton Lake Post covers Roscommon, Missaukee, Crawford, and Kalkaska counties. The Gaylord Post covers Emmet, Charlevoix, Antrim, Cheboygan, and Otsego counties. The Alpena Post is responsible for Alpena, Alcona, Montmorency, Oscoda, and Presque Isle counties. 

The Sixth District has four posts covering 14 counties. The Rockford Post is responsible for Kent, Muskegon, and Ottawa counties. The Hart Post is responsible for Lake, Mason, Newaygo, and Oceana counties. The Mount Pleasant Post covers Clare, Isabella, Mecosta, and Osceola counties. The Lakeview Post covers Gratiot, Ionia, and Montcalm counties.

Xổ số muôn nămThe Special Operations Division houses the department’s specialty teams including the Emergency Support Team, Marine Services Team, Aviation Unit, Canine Unit, Bomb Squad, and Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit. Additionally, this division includes the Executive Protection Section and the state properties security officers who provide security at state-owned buildings in Lansing and at the Secondary Complex.

The State 911 Office is responsible for oversight of the State 911 Dispatcher Training Program and funds and coordinates the work of the State 911 Committee (SNC), which promotes the successful development, implementation, and operation of Michigan’s 911 systems.

The Third District consists of five posts covering 14 counties. The Tri-City Post is responsible for Bay, Midland, and Saginaw counties. The West Branch Post is responsible for Ogemaw, Iosco, Gladwin, and Arenac counties. The Caro Post is responsible for Huron, Tuscola, and Sanilac counties. The Lapeer Post is responsible for Lapeer and St. Clair counties. The Flint Post is responsible for Genesee and Shiawassee counties.

This division is responsible for conducting MSP recruit schools for new enforcement members and in-service trainings for current members.
